Greetings from Battambang, Cambodia 🇰🇠Year 2020
We arrived in Battambang on Friday, greeted warmly by Rod Johnson who graciously had our home opened and cleaned for us!! Thanks Rod, it was so wonderful to be welcomed home to a clean house!!
Errands of getting our phones working and our car running, unpacking and getting groceries filled Friday afternoon and Saturday!
So today joining in worship at Community Light Church was a pure blessing, to hear the Cambodian Christians praising God in their tongues warms our hearts and souls!! Warm hugs, warm greetings from our dear friends, it’s what life is about! We praise God or the opportunity to be here, to place this desire in our hearts, to bless us with friends who have become family ❤️
This afternoon we stopped at our friends home to greet her, she has had some complications in her pregnancy, we have chatted via FB messenger but nothing compares to hugging her and seeing she and her baby are doing well! We praise God for this another blessing❤️
After that visit on to the YWAM Base to join in the festivities
of the starting of the next schools for DTS (Discipleship Training School) and SOMD (School of Ministry Development) a Welcome to Battambang Party in full swing! Much more greeting of long time friends and making new friends!!
Picture included of Kelly Van Hemert with his beautiful new daughter Ramey, I could include so many more pictures of new babies, babies born last year now walking, growing so fast, but I was to busy seeing and hugging to take pictures!!
We went home to plant the sweet corn in the soil Ed had prepared the day before!! We are hoping to share with our friends what sweet corn really tastes like! Iowa Sweet corn 🌽
Tomorrow our Conversation Class starts at the YDC (Youth Development Center) on the YWAM Base!! We are excited for a new season and session! Excited for what God has in store for us this term, this year! He knows who our students will be, what their needs are, their desires are, he knows the people He has planned for us to encounter this year, even before we meet them, may our hearts be ready to love and above all share His abounding love with each person to meet their needs, not our glory but to God be all glory!!
Pictures also include Sunday morning worship and Ed tilling the soil to plant the sweet corn!
We hope the sweet corn grows, and is delicious but more we hope and pray that we show and share the love and the truth of Jesus every day in our encounters with the people.
God bless each of you and thanks for taking the time to read what we’re up to!
Ed and Mary
