Our team leaves for Cambodia today! They board out of Chicago around noon Jan 11 Chicago time! We are praying for safe travels for both flights! See you all tomorrow evening in Siem Reap!
Ok we started out our day, with the usual devotions, breakfast and then oh my how time flies, we are to be at the Base to meet those going to work on Anna's house! We missed them but did find the work site, and joined in Mary painting walls, while Ed did carpentry work, until noon, after a quick stop at the market for some fruit we headed back to base for lunch.
Going to base for lunch is so much more than rice, broth and veggies or maybe even meat; it is getting to know the Khmer and International students and listening to their stories like Sharon from the Netherlands or Sunouen from Cambodia, both have lived so much life already and their faith in God just blows us away!! It makes us look so self sufficient when they trust God for everything because they have nothing!
Well two very different stories but yet their trust and faith in God, WOW!! So you see we get fed so much more than physical food!
Then after lunch we headed back to our Hotel, acquired a tuk tuk to bring all the supplies we brought to Jeevit's House. Loaded up we arrived and unpacked, sorted and packed away for Laura's use, when each need arises, she is pretty well stocked with many item! Thank you to all who donated, Laura was excited!
Will post pictures when the can upload, internet can be a bit iffy at times at the Hotel.
Then we walked back to the Hotel, a bit of a jaunt but when you walk instead of bike you do get a different view, biking I navigating traffic, walking one can just enjoy and take in all the scenery! Either way it is an experience!
Got cleaned up and headed back to the base for Wednesday evening meeting, it was a great intoduction to DTS, this is the week DTS starts and so the community pastors were invited to join us and to pray with the new team, a big team of 30 students! Chennouen had a great intro to DTS and a great motivational, inspirational talk really for each person who attended and that is one big group for Wednesday night fellowship!
Then supper and bed, trust me this is pushing it I am ready to call it a day! but a great day!! Tomorrow we will hear the last lecture on Revelation, get a phone ready for use, pack up and head to Siem Reap to meet our team coming in from the Bridge and the Kunz's, so excited to see them all experience these awesome Cambodian people!
Blessings to each of you, thanks for the prayers, say an extra prayer for those traveling a long time to arrive in a strange land!
